Cambridge Technicals are the higher level equivalent of Cambridge Nationals. Like the nationals, they were designed in partnership with educational professionals and employers, to give students the skills and knowledge they need for both future study and the workplace. From 2016, the technicals will be structured differently to include external assessments and to meet the Department of Education’s guidelines for technical qualifications.

The Technicals are a level 3 qualification and are mainly for 16-19-year-olds who are staying in education and have identified a specific job or career path.  They are roughly equivalent to A-levels and are worth UCAS points. To find out more, go to the Cambridge Technicals site.
