Maths Functional Skills promotes mathematical thinking and transferable skills rather than rote learning. You’ll learn maths that is useful in everyday situations and the world of work, and contextual material which emphasises the benefits of maths.
Specifically, the course focuses on: numbers; measure, shape and space; and handling data.
The qualification is suitable for students of various ages and from diverse backgrounds.
There are three entry levels and two levels within Maths Functional Skills.
At the end of the course there will be one exam lasting between one and one and a half hours depending on the level you are taking. You will be assessed either via a computer or on paper.
